Just Joined the Club!
Been lurking here for awhile, but am pleased to report that my wife and I are now the proud owners of a 2006 S2k in Laguna Blue. What an awesome ride in a beautiful color. Really stands out.
Drove everything that was at all comparable, and the S2k beat them all...Mazda MX5, Nissan 350Z, Audi TT, Chrysler Crossfire, Infiniti G35 coupe, Mustang GT convertible. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir, but this car has everything - speed, power, handling and good looks - and at a steal of a price. I hope to post here more often when I have anything worthy to throw in. Just wanted to say Hi! |

Welcome!
I too test drove as many convertibles as possible before making a decision. Each model has aspects that I liked and disliked. The Honda was by no means the hands-down winner, but it felt like a good "average" of all of them, without having any minor gripes. What did you think of the Crossfire? It was on my shopping list, but I never found one in stock to test drive... -Bob |

i test drove the crossfire in the comparable price range as the s2000 and it doesnt compare to the s2000...however from what i hear you can get the srt6 which will run ya almost 50k that is a blast also...but for 50k i dont know if its worth it...you can put a supercharger in the s and still be in the high 30's and then the s is the better car...

What did I think of the Crossfire?
Interesting car, but the styling was a little over-the-top for my tastes. Too busy, inside and out. Also, I was surprised at the low horsepower for the size motor...sure, you can opt for the SRT, but then you pay commensurately more $$s, and the field opens up more at that price point.
Still, I give Diamler Chrysler credit for a little out-of-the-box thinking, and it's clear Chrysler got a quality boost from the "merger". |

But, for 50 large, the SRT is still based on the now discontinued SLK chassis. Recirculating ball steering? Hey the 60s called and wants it's steering system back.
