Rev drag

the other day I was driving my 03 S and i pulled in 1st and got up to around 7k and it dragged as if i ran it to 9k and in each gear it did the same up to about 3rd anyway. then a few min later i threw in neutral and rev'ed it a little and no problems after that. it was early in the morning and cold. that has never happened before anyone have a suggestion on why it did that to me..

maybe i don't get what you mean but sounds like it is the clutch, you can test it by having the hand break on and then put it into 1st gear and try to drive the car. if the rev can go up but the car is not moving than it is the clutch problem.

I think what he may be referring to is that he tried to hit vtec without the engine being properly warmed up. Therefore he hit the "cold" rev limiter of 7K which is like when you hit the "warm" limiter of 9K.

In short, don't vtec without the car being properly warmed up.

Sounds like not warmed up. You didn't do the internals of your engine any favors by trying to VTEC a cold engine.

That's a case'a "been-there-done-that" for more than a few of us. If it keeps me from absent-mindedly hurtin' the engine . . I can take the embarassment.
As for "What the hell is a Queen Kim n' Job Wong", dunno really, but suspect it has somethin' to do with sunspots, biorhythms n' the decayin' remains of ol' Zundapps.
Be well.
