Leakage through windows

So today I took my new 2006 S2000 to a touch-free carwash just to see how good those things are. While sitting there, I felt a spray of water to my arm and I was like . So apparently, the water spraying directly sideways starting leaking through both the passenger side rear edge as well as the driver's side. Not a lot of water came through, but you after the wash, I checked the windows and water went in between the rubber side and the glass window. So...I'm just wondering, since I just got this car and haven't experienced heavy rain in it yet, is this normal? If so, what a stupid design. If not, WTF is up with my new car?!

Of course, I checked to see if everything was tight before I entered the carwash. Please help. I'm about 5 months away from the extreme rain that happens in Davis, CA, but I would like to get this worked out. Thanks.

Just wash your car by hand. The touchless car washer are high pressure washers. I read its not good to wash your car with pressure washer sence its a convertible. I've been through some heavy rain storms in Virginia and havent had a problem with my S leaking. Only advise is dont take it through automated car washes, it doesnt take that long to wash it by hand. Enjoy ur new S, there loads of fun

ummm i think u r not suppose to take any convertible into any kind of machine wash and no it will not leak no matter how fast u drive or how hard it rain. High pressure wash will wash away the clear coating on ur paint and any new wax u applied. And lastly, nothing wrong with the design, i have a CLK and it even leaks when wash by hand, when they use high pressure water to wash u r car (and its a $100K car)!!! wut i am trying to say is wash by ur self and baby it like ur treasure.

I've taken my '06 S2K through two different touchless car washes and was pleased that it didn't leak even a drop. I expected some leakage, as my last ragtop, a '99 Mustang GT, would leak a little.

If I were you, I'd take your S back to the dealer and see if they can do anything about it. Alternatively, try a different car wash...maybe the one you visited had jets that were pointed at the worst possible angle for your windows/seals.

BTW, I agree in principle with rev2sky, but I'm a pretty busy guy and don't always have an extra hour to give my S the TLC she deserves. Also, with all the rain here in Seattle, you seldom get a chance to handwash - at least in the spring, fall and winter.

If normal precipitation doesn't cause any leakage and pressure washing (let's call it what it is) does, I don't see the problem. Many hardtops have leakage of one sort or another when pressure washed. Why would you expect a raggtopp to be more waterproof than a hardtop when pressure washed?
If you've got no alternative but to get it pressure washed, get it washed n' wipe up the leakage. Done.
