No More S2000

The s2000 is in its final production year. Honda is replacing it in 2007 with a new model, called the XGA.

I'm still desperately trying to afford one. Will the fact that the S2000 is discontinued after this year help or hurt my chances of buying one (will the price go up or down?). I see Supras and RX7s have become collectors items, and I am anxious to get an S2000 before I'm paying "wanted car tax"....

The XGA is an april fool's joke.

That said, nobody knows what will become of the S. The NSX has supposedly been 'on its last legs" for the last 4 years of production, and yet, Honda keeps trying to sell 'em.

As far as collector's item premium. There are plenty of cars around in the used market. It will be some time before you'd need to worry about a premium to get a hold of one. I've seen some MY 2000 ones advertised for ~12K albeit with lots of miles on the odo.

April fool's joke? That site you listed seemed to take it pretty seriously.
Or are you referring to the XGA's "Gran Tourisimosity" compared to the S2000's true sports car intentions?
If that's what you're referring to I agree with you. Hell! They even mentioned the A word.
Be well.

1. Look at the date S2ki posted it in 'news'.
2. Check some of the discussions on the forum the day after it was posted. This was just an April fool's joke. The pic is a photoshop job.

'Gotta hand it to you halo, your magnifyin' glass is alot sharper than mine. I'd'a bought it (the article that is). I'll give 'em an A for effort though.
So, I guess XGA=EXcessively Gullable @*#holes. Ah, well. Ain't the first time n' I'm sure it won't be the last.
Be well.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Not sure how much weight a 2 paragraph story on a UK website, with no by-line, no sources at Honda, no correlation with actual press releases claiming a car has been 'sketched' has to do with the actual plans Honda has for the S2000, but whatever.

I actually like the photoshopped car! Very well done the way the Integra hatch was blended in. But then, I already own a BMW M Coupe so clearly I have "issues" liking fast hatches...
