heater question

when i turn the heater on, i get hot air coming, but when i press on the gas while the heater is on, the air gets hotter, is this normal on a s2000?

its july and you live in LA. WHY are you turning on the heat? Do you like torture? I dont recall having that problem this winter but I had a winter driver for the cold temp.
