When is the real time that VTEC kicks in?

I'm getting confused...co'z somebody says that the early 1999-2003 S2000 models' VTEC kicks in at 5000 RPM but some se'z its at 6000 RPM? And also what RPM range usually the newly updated engine '04-'06 S2000 models' VTEC kicks in? some also says at 6000 RPM and some says its at 6500 RPM...does someone really knows? PLEASE tell me....

i think u r figures are not quite right for the 04+ model it kicks in around 6500RPM. and the the 00+ should kick in later than the 04+ because it has a higher rev.

my 04 kicks in at 6200 , i think its just the last 2000 rpms

i have an 01 and i have driven my boss's 06 and i prefur my car because it feels more exciting to drive

Depends on throttle position, oil pressure etc.
So with all the above figures posted you would have to assume correct running temp with WOT.
