Mobil 1
Hi all,
I'm looking to change my oil for my S (2002 model, 43,000 miles), and I can only seem to find 0W-40 Mobil 1 in the shops. My last oil change was done with 0W-40, but since then I have read through some previous comments, and it seems that 10W-30 is the recommended grade on this site. What are the reasons for using 10W-30? Is it a bad idea for me to use 0W-40? I have noticed my S has been burning oil fairly rapidly recently. Is this linked to the oil I have been using? Finally, if I must use 10W-30, does anyone know where I can get it in SE England? I would greatly appreciate some guidence on this! Cheers |

Sharp;
Not that any of us have evil in our hearts (well, no more than the normal amounts) but, I'd check with my Honda bible about something as life-important (to your car) as engine oil. If the book says it's okay, then you've the blessing of Mother Honda and you can do no harm. 'Lots'a good info on the site. 'Lots'a malarkey too. 'Too important an issue to leave to a website. My bible's not handy, but 0W-40 doesn't sound too off-the-mark. I'd be surprised if it wasn't approved, but check your bible. If brother Fletch is still visiting the site, maybe he can help you out with locating the 10W-30. As I recall, he had a pretty good knowledge of things British. Be well. |
