Heat coming up from middle console

Hi guys, well it's comming to july again. start of the summer this part of the world.

Just wondering if you S2k owners ever experience heat coming up from the underneath of the middle console inside the cabin. I'm talking about the area just next to the hand brake leaver (03 version)

I'v been asking around, and people have been tellin me that its cause the gearbox / cat. + electronics are underneat, in that zone. Is this true ??? (im not a meccanic)

All i know is that it can sometimes get really hot in there, warm air is definately rising up. Anybody else notice this ???

Thanks dudes

no electronics there, but yes the gear box and the cat alittle bit off to the side but very close. mostly it is because of the gearbox and every car does that in the summer, doesn't matter if is MT or AT (from my experience).

I agree. The gearbox is literally right under your gear lever. This area does get warm. If you put your leg or hand on down the side here you should be able to feel it.

Also there are some air vents near your stereo door. If the vent control is switched to roof-off mode air will come out of here.

'Got lots'a hot stuff goin' on down under a runnin' car n' it's all lookin' for a way to rise, as heat tends to do. The tunnel is one big upside-down catch basin for any heat that doesn't make it's way out to the extremities of the car.
Water's wet, the sky is blue n' tunnels get hot. Some uncomfortably so.
Be well.
