I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Thanks a lot. As far as I know the 17" wheels appeared in 2004 too. What about the front bumper change?

All of the major changes came about in 2004. This year marked the change in chassic code from AP1 to AP2.

The AP2 cars have different front and rear bumpers, LED brakelights, different headlights, integrated tweeters in the door panels, bigger wheels, some changes to the interior plastics and, in North America, a 2.2L engine with a different final drive and gear ratios.

That's strange, because I saw new taillights on 2003 models.

Unless he means the subtle change in tail lights from MY01 to MY02 (the chrome rings around the individual lenses). I guess those could be considered "new" relative to 00 and 01.

I have seen some earlier models with a full conversion including front and rear bumpers, headlights, tail lights, plug wire cover and interior trim. Haven't seen anyone who swapped the door panels though, so seeing the little tweeters protruding from the door panels is usually a giveaway if you're just peeking into the car. The instrument panel would be another.
