Proud new owner of 2001

Hello all. I just bought a 2001 S2000 with only 24,750 miles on it. I LOVE IT! I have driven a 1996 Accord EX 4-cyl 5spd for the past nearly 8 years, which i still have and i still love. But man, the S2k!!! I live in Florida so the weather, especially in the evenings, is perfect for top-down cruising.

Any recommendations on oil brand/weight? Also does everyone use Premium or could i try mid-grade?

Any advice would be great! I know a thing or two about cars (amazing since i'm a chick, right? = ) ) but i can always learn more.

Thanks!!!

Welcome aboard Kimi;
Best of luck with your new ride.
If you got an owners manual with it, keep it handy. If not, spring for one. It answers any maintenance questions you might have along the way with a suredness that you'll never get from a website.
As for oil, you might wanna check your owner's manual if you've got one, or drop a few posts down to Mobil 1 or some of the other posts on the topic.
Good luck n' be well.

Use the factory recommended grade 10W30. Many folks use Mobil1 because of the supposed extra protection of synthetic oil, it's debatable if it makes a difference if you change your oil regularly (3-5K miles).

I wouldn't play around with lower octance gas. This car has a very high compression ratio to achieve 120hp/L, and although the ECU will pull timing if it detects knock, why buy a performance car if you're not going to use it as intended?

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.
