What do you mean keep it up? What do you mean died on you?
Superchargers are on constantly, they are always producing some level of boost as long as the engine is spinning. As the supercharger is run directly from the engine, the boost is directly related to the RPMs. The higher the RPMs the more boost (in the case of centrifugal superchargers that most s2000's use). If your car is giving you trouble I suggest you take it into a performance workshop and get it looked at. There may be a problem with the supercharger, or fuel delivery etc. M@ |

First of all, I just want to say thanks for replying!
Well, I bought my car into the honda dealership. The tech says that I need to install something called a "spacer" to go along with the supercharger for max performance. The spacer will equally distribute power evenly, but then again, I'm not a racer or have any intentions too. Should I go ahead and invest in it? It will cost about $600.00 + US dollars. As for my car dying on me, was it the supercharger that could of gave me a fuel shortage? Because when my car died, all the emergency icons came on (battery, check engine, and etc.). So I pulled over the shoulder and waited till my car shut down and then started back up again and it works. I don't know what happen but it scared me. I'm thinking about selling or trading it in if it happens again. Here are my specifications on my s2001 convertable: -Supercharger w/ a cooler timer -Dual AEM Exuast -Carbon Fiber hood -C-West Body Kit -18" Racing Hearts -Viper motion alarm -Nice purple paint job (originally black w/ red leather seats) If anyone is interested, email me at cvan@lsu.edu. |
