about to buy one

I'm about to buy a 2003 white s2000 with 35,000mi on the 22nd. Now.... I'm 19 years old and make about 2750 a month after taxes. and I live with my fiencee and my bro and his g/f. well I looked at the insurence for this car and my chevy s 10 for a month and its 378(yea high... I know). but the real problem is the car is going for 22k(b4 tax and tags) and with 2k down out the door is 21,560(tax and tags included). I'm a mechanic so I'm gonna look over the car. and my question is, are there any "common problems" s2000's have that I can use to help my fight on talking him down? I'm trying to get him to about 19k or if I can 18k. does that seem like a resonable price to ask for it? I mean 22k is 2k lower than kelly blue book. so I dont know. if he doesnt go lower than 20k I'm walking away i got a loan but my apr is 11.5% so with 21,560 thats $473 or something a month and I didnt want to go over 400. so is it hopeless and should I walk away from this car for a couple of yeas till I can buy it with pocket change? or get this amazing car. I fell in love with it when I first saw my buddys g/f get it she was 19 too at the time a year ago and paid 23k out the door and she bought a 2003 with less milage a year ago so you cant tell me that 1 year drops it 1k it should be more if over it was new 30+k 3 years ago thats a 10k drop in price thats about 3.3k a year so it should be 20k for the s2000 that sounds reasonable to me. so let me know I got 2 days to decide. what should I do.

You have to remember, these cars a not very common. Also, they hold there value. I bought an '01 4 weeks back. It is mint with 50k mi. I got it for 18k. That may seem high, but I've been looking for a while and to see the car it is worth every penny. You may consider an older model, they really don't have common problems. Check out a pic of my '01.

I hope you find one you don't mind paying for, you will love it.
