maintenance required light

How do you turn off this light. In the manual it says you gotta hold the trip reset button when the key is in the LOCK position untill the light turns off.... That doesn't seem to work, the light isn even on when the key is in the lock position. Thing is annoying. I have a 2000 s2k btw

I figured it out. You have to put the key in the ignition, then hold the trip button, then turn the ignition to on and wait like 10 seconds before releasing the trip button. The manual doesnt say to do that.

Mine does in both the Insight and the S.
