New to the S2K world

Hey just wanted to introduce myself. I am Brad I just got a S2000 about a month ago and I love it. Its all stock except i put in a small fiberglass enclosure in the back that i made to try to get a little sound in it along with a amplifier front mbquart speakers and a head unit. My last vehicle was a pos Isuzu Impulse rs. It was awd turbo charged that I built the motor in forged internals bored out raised compression to 9.35 ported polished the head cams 780 cc injectors t3t4 60 trim turbo fmic stage 3+ clutch haltech standalone computer custom manifold that I made and so on. Needless to say the car was garbage and so is the isuzu community so here I am. Hopefully I can have more success with my projects with the s2k.

Welcome to the club and the site. Sounds like you did a lot of work on the Impulse. I am surprised you said it was a POS.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

thanks for the welcome. ehh I had nothing but problems and money into that car. The head cracked on the dyno not from tune issues but what we believe was a small crack that was missed when I had the head done. i put it back together and it didnt have close to as much power again then i thought i fixed the power problem but broke a oil line and ran it without oil and spun a bearing. Didnt look at the oil pressure gauge in time. So I have 1000's into it and got nothing out of it. Plus isuzu/geo people are goofy and think their cars are awesome and nothing is better even though very few of them are quick. So it seems like this s2000 forum is alot smaller then most of the other s2000 forums why is that? just starting off?

Welcome aboard S2. Yeah, it does get a mite quiet at times, but you godda be here for the square dancin' on the weekends. It's a real hoot!
'Dunno if you're plannin' on attackin' your new Stewie the way you altered the Impulse, but (yeah, here I go again guys) may I respectfully suggest that you give you n' Stewie the time together to become comfortable with each other. N' no, that don't happen in a week's worth'a drivin' either.
But, if you see what you're capable of in your new ride, you might not find it necessary to spend money to change anything. Maybe . . . maybe not.
That said, be well.

As for myself, I spend time on three different S2000 forums and try to add as much as I can to all three.

"Someday it might have a turbo r' a supercharger". "Someday it will be boosted" here'bouts means someday you're gonna go outside n' it's gonna be gone. 'Wouldn't wish that on anybody.
N' contrary to how I dwell on cornering, I do actually appreciate straight lines. How else would we get to the next corner?
N' to be completely honest about it, I've been considerin' gettin' mine boo . . er, havin' mine supercharged too.
Be well

Supercharge! I'm thinking about the same thing too for my S. Either Comptech or Vortech, but in the mean time I have to change my brake rotors or just go for total upgrade to a 13" and 4 pods calipers. Any idea? So far I have found Stoptech to be quite reasonable on the wallet.Talking about supercharge; do those guys give us group discount?

normally im a turbo kind of guy but this is to nice of a car to do that to in my opinion. I will also be supercharging it. In my opinion the brakes are one of the last things I would do on the car now remember I am used to driving a car with rotors that were more suited for a bicycle. I will never forget the first night i beat on the impulse took it to about 90 then got on the brakes to slow it back down needless to say i ended up having to rely alot on engine braking bah to that car.

I would wait for my brake upgrade, but I don't think the fronts are going to last after this weekend auto X... So when are you going to supercharge your car?

prolly not for a while. Id like to have it paid off before i screw it up. Part of the reason i want to keep the impulse is so i can have a pos to pump 30 pounds through at the track and if it blows it blows. Cant do that with the s2000.
