yeah yeah yeah its no drag car
but it still does a nice job at it. now i raced plenty of evo-sti's in my built isuzu so i knew they were quick but nothing amazing but I didnt know how the s2000 would do. Tonight i came across a sti with exhaust im not sure if anything else but i doubt it. anyway we raced from 30-40 area to 110. from the beginning of the race to 90 we were dead even at 90 he pulled a tiny bit and 100 he pulled on me nicely. I was very impressed with my 01. Just figured id share

Sounds about right for stock.
As an aside, I had some dumbshit in an STI try to "race" me as I was merging onto the freeway on my CBR (it's an F4i ... the "slow" CBR). Needless to say, it didn't go too well for him. No plates, I'm guessing dude just got it, finally replacing that fart can equipped Civic hatch and believed all the hype that it was the fastest car on earth. I think some people just don't get what sportbikes are capable of. 60mph in 1st gear and high 128 miles per hour traps are a bit out of reach of all but the rarest street driven STI. Then again, maybe his car wasn't broken in. When it is, maybe I'll have to actually downshift on the bike. |

Halo, as I remember it, you had once mentioned about havin' "outgrown" ridin' a bike when the topic came up. Do I detect a "still-biker" behind that calm facade r' izzatt jus' an old story bein' brought out?
N' you're absolutely right (as usual): most people jus' don't have a clue what the new sportbikes r' capable of. It might have somethin' to do (opinion n' some experience bein' spoken here folks) with all the times that the bikers don't waste their time racin' every kid in whatever the kid's tryin' to challange the bike with. Naturally, the result of that translates to: "Whoa! Am I fast r' what? That bike didn't have a chance! Where's another bike? Bring 'em on!" When most of the bikes (not just the sporters) can jump from 70 to well over a hundred in a nano-second because the rider sneezed r' carelessly stretched, I really think that most folks jus' ain't got a clue. But everything's relative. There's always somethin' faster. But on a sportbike, there ain't much (that ain't sportin' swept wings n' heat-seekin' armament). Be well. Java

I did get out of biking for a few years because of family and so on. But couldn't resist getting back into it again. I recently picked up a used F4i to screw around with on the weekends. I haven't regretted it so far. Honda does build some nice machines.

Best of luck with your new ride. N' as I've said before, as loathe as this Ford man is to admit it; yeah. Honda does put together some very interestin' parts n' assemblies.
Be well. Java

Okay, so I'm atta light n' all I'm tryin' to do is get home. I'm tired, smelly (but the top's down so it's not a problem until I stop at a light) n' all I wanna do is take a shower n' get up close n' personal with my pillow.
'Light changes n' I jus' come off in auto-pilot, no aggressiveness, but not slow. Dweeb on my left is makin' it really obvious that he's gonna either embarrass me r' blow up his ride tryin'. All I was tryin' to do was go home. Honest. I'd already upshifted n' wasn't even in a good gear for acceleration, but without thinkin' aboudditt, the auto-pilot kicked in, I'd down shifted n' by the time I retook control it was too late. Embarrassment loomed if I backed off. I hadda go for it. So we stayed side by side for a bit n' then I got into the power end of things. Case closed. Worse part is, I know it was a Beemer, but so few Beemers interest me anymore that I can't even say what kind'a Beemer it was. (a slow Beemer?) So I'm bringin' it back down to normal operational speed n' some Firebird goes roarin' by me near a hundred. I guess he'd been stuck in traffic n' wanted to play too. Who knows? Entirely too much unchained testosterone out there. I seem to have stepped in some myself. Be well. Java

i wouldnt call it unchained testosterone i just love beating the piss out of my cars hahaha. this is my first car where i want to be kinda nice to it. if you went to that video i sent you can see im not normally about looks all about performance as you can see by that hideous car with the hideous stripe. ya i know its got rims on it but thats only because the wheels that came on it were 3 spoke yes 3 spoke remember the car is from the early 90's and they were the wrong offset and had a spacer which i did not like.

Well, I don't know that I'd go as far as to say that I enjoy "beatin' the piss" out'a my car. But, I do treat it like any other tool: I use it to do the job n' with respect n' the knowledge that it's not actually bulletproof r' foolproof; so it requires some involvement in plannin' it's prolonged life. And mine.
But, had I been on top'a things rather than runnin' home on auto-pilot, I never would'a wasted my equipment, gas n' time on that particular "contest". I allowed myself to get "spooked" into it. Dumb. Oh, don't get me wrong: there're times when I'm the one that's gonna go for broke, but, like the bike, I wanna be doin' it 'cause I wanna dooitt. I don't wanna be wastin' my efforts on every pimply-faced Don Garlits wannabee that's got the keys to mommy's car. Be well. Java
