Welcom to the forum!

My name is Alex. My S2000 is stock.

You sure do have a lot of mods for your S2000!!!! I'd have a very difficult time justify that kind of spending to my wife.

Thanks guys... Its been a tough few months getting the car retuned for all the mods, but she is running great now!!

The motor will be getting rebuilt this winter so I can up the boost and run 500+ HP without hurting the motor

Nice mods.

Have you upgraded your clutch / drivetrain and brakes?

Do you have any problems with heat with the turbo in the engine bay - the honda motor itself creates quite a bit of heat.

I take it that is a water-to-air intercooler?

Are you considering raising the NOS level as well as the boost?

We would love to see a dyno chart!!

Matt,

The drivetrain was slightly modded. I changed the highly worn stock clutch for the ACT HD Street Clutch and pressure plate. This made a HUGE difference in the launching of the car. This clutch is very good for hard or soft launches.

The intercooler is an Air to Air... no liquid . Heat hasnt been a problem at all (no melting wires or anything), motor stays cool, oil temp is good, the NOS helps alot in keeping things cool durring a hard run.

The NOS level I have been toying around with the idea of raising it to a 50 shot but no more... I have been pretty rich durring my NOS runs (about 10:1 afr), just need to adjust my intake temp fuel table to correct that. Alot of the experts I have talked to say with a proper tune (which it is) you can do almost 15lbs of boost all day long on pump gas. This is a little hard for me to believe (mainly due to the insanly high compression) so durring the tuning process my car did hit 16.5lbs by accident and it held just fine. *WHEW*

The 9psi / 35shot combo works great, feels nice, and I only had to retard the timing about a degree at the 8200/8300 range (slight knock).

here is the dyno charts as requested....

This is what the S2k STOCK will produce...

This is what the S2k produces @ 9psi

Take care,

B.

What was the main difference between the two graphs - the second one seems a lot flatter overall.

I've never heard of anybody running 15PSI on a "standard" high compression motor... usually most places I've heard of say 7PSI for good reliability.

NOS works very well with turbos, although I don't hear of too many people going along this route. I suppose that may be because it is illegal to run NOS on the street out here(Australia), and it would be far easier to turn up the boost on cars that are factory turbo.

I guess another option depending on your NOS setup, is that you can have it injecting higher octane fuel along with the NOS

I expected you had to upgrade the clutch (pretty standard mods these days).

It is interesting you are running air-air intercooler. Many people always go for water/air ...but this is not necessarily the best. Water helps even out the high spikes in temperature, but after a many spikes or long run the average water temperature itself will rise. It depends on what the car is used for I guess.

What sort of octane (RON) rating is the petrol over there? In Japan I know they are able to buy 100RON pretty much everywhere. In Australia the best we can get from petrol stations is 98 RON. There are a few places that sell racing fuels etc but these are very expensive and not so widely available.

Nice work - just don't be tempted to keep creeping the boost up unless you want to blow an engine.

The first dyno plot was done when the car was bone stock, something to compare it to.

I keep my boost at 9 psi all the time, rarely increase it.

The octane in the states is usally 91, but I keep 93 in it at all times. When I am out on the track I put 114 in it just in case
