Weird knocking noise
I have had my car for a couple of months now, and i absolutely love it. For awhile now though I have heard a sound coming mostly from the passenger side. It sounds like its coming from down in the power top mechanism. Somewhere mid seat level behind the plastic covering. It kinda sounds like a hinged metal arm hitting something else metal. It happens mostly during longitudinal speed changes. I will check the axel nuts, but i dont think its them. Any help will be appreciated.

Not sure, sorry. I thought maybe the test pipe/ cat was hitting the heat shield underneath, but if it is stock, I doubt the cat- exhaust would have shifted and be hitting the shield.

Metal on metal noise? I'll assume yes.
Any chance it wasn't stock for a while but was converted back before sale? I'd take a look at the bolts that hold the rear A arms to the body. One, to check they're tight and two to see if they've been wrenched on. They should look absolutely pristine without a scratch if the suspension was not previously modified with springs or coilovers and then returned to stock. The next thing I'd check are the various hangers for the exhaust. Without hearing it, those would be the first things I'd check. What you're describing isn't a 'known' problem with the car. |
