It's not only that though, my dad has back problems and I just had shoulder surgery so not only would I have to pay for storage but I'd have to hire movers and a Uhaul to get the stuff over to the storage.. Still considering though.

Oh, well, that complicates things. Got any friends who might help you for pizza and beer? Of course, then you end up dragging your friends into your personal stuff, but if anyone would understand, one would hope friends would be the ones. And just work on a little bit at a time. Trying to tackle the whole thing at once can seem overwhelming. Fill one box a day and maybe 2 or 3 on Saturdays and Sundays.
This might be completely far-fetched, but maybe a professional organizer would be worth the cost for some ideas of how to attack the project. It sounds all froo-froo, I know, but these professional organizer types are amazingly resourceful and have great ideas on how to deal with uncluttering stuff and showcasing the things you really love. The type of organizer you would want is like this guy: http://www.organizingla.com/ But you want one local to you, of course.

That car went the way of the Jowet Jupiter, the Singer, The Hillman Minx and a few others.

I think my g.grandma's Borgward looked more like this. The car pre-dated me by a number of years but she was proud of owning it so she would talk about it often. She always described the curves on the side. In my searches for Borgward info(I'm a car nut so I was curious) this car matched her discription to a tee.

I think you need to give credit for the "boxer" motor design to Karl Benz, not Borgward.

I was not saying that Borgward had the first flat four(VW/Porsche jumps into mind) but simply that the Subaru engine originally came from Borgward. And since the boxer defines Subaru these days, it's a neat connection to a car company that most people have never heard of.

I think these "gang squirrels" must be catching on worldwide. First it was the "Bloods"and "Crips", now we have the squirrel gang the "nutz". I'm thinking their unusual size and demeanor stems from fluoridated nuts or watching too much violent television programming through peoples windows. In any case here's a group captured in Britain.

I built my house in 1992 and had a three car garage built at the time. I too say a garage is meant for cars and to this day we keep cars in all of the bays. Hardly anything else is allowed in there. I am also a 2nd gen F-body nut so I had to have a place for them. So here is what my current situation looks like.

Not having a garage sucks. I'm moving in a couple of months but right now I'm stuck living in MIL's house. And she is a hoarder...I'm talking MAJOR hoarder. Needs to go on that damn TV show. I can't even fit my bike in the garage.
Soon baby, I'll have you where you belong!

So the process of getting my garage spot has now started! It just sucks about the event that led to cleaning out the garage..
On friday someone cut the top and broke into my S.. The good news is that the only thing they took was some spare change in the cup holder. The bad news is, they cut the freaking top to break in.. I really wish they would have just broken the window.
But anyway, I wish I would have taken pics of the garage before we started moving stuff out but here's how it is now.
Dad's 3000GT hiding in the corner of clutter.
Test fit! (moved all the stuff to the middle part)

Looks like a lot of great progress! Bummer about the damage to your car though.
Insurance (comprehensive) should cover it. Still, it's a hassle.

I know! I'm pretty happy about it. Didn't have to pay the movers since parents felt so bad
Either way it's $500 (deductable) out of my pocket...

I know the feeling. Sometimes when I go to my car after work it almost looks yellow instead of silver! Worse on my black Subie.

Im on the same boat you are in OP.. I cover mine frequently but it is annoying and I am too lazy to do it every night when its my DD.. Here in SF they get stolen and broken into pretty frequently so i bought some custom screws for the seat brackets to protect those.. As far as protecting the car and motor, well an alarm will help with some aero lockable hood latches but if someone wants it they're gunna take it..

I try to work in my garage, but it's not lighted well so it's kinda hard to do much of anything in there at night so I'm mostly a driveway DIY'er and with our dogs kennels being there too it's not exactly optimal to leave a car overnight.
