strange humming noise
ok, this is weird... I notice this humming noise everytime I go above 30 miles per hour. Sounds like its coming from the rear passenger side. the humming noise goes away when i sway to the right, but not to the left... does anyone know what this is? Is it engine brake or tire related? my tires are in excellent condition. Thanks. - Mike

Mike;
Have you put it up n' inspected the underside? Be well. Java

yes I have, everything seems to be fine, I asked a friend and he said its most probably a wheel bearing. What the heck is a wheel bearing? and does it cost a lot to replace? - Mike

Oh, from this end'a things it possibly could be a wheel bearin' (pretty easily replaced n' not expensive) but that'd be surprisin' unless there was umpteen thou on the vehicle.
Tryin' to diagnose usually ain't too much of a problem when the offendin' vehicle is right in frunna you. Doin' it over the net leaves a lot to be desired. 'Wish I could be more helpful other than to suggest that you get it to a local mech that has a good rep. Your comment of "what the heck is a wheel bearing" tells me that sooner r' later you're gonna need the abilities of a good machanic anyway. Aaay! Don't get me wrong: we've all got the point where we sholdn't venture beyond mechanically. (Okay. Most of us anyway. I get the impression that some of our site brethren could disect n' reassemble Stewie with the ease that the rest of us make ham sandwiches) But this is your Stewie that you're talkin' about. If you're like me, it represents a very major chunk of your denaro. It really calls for the diagnosis of a reputable mechanic. Be well n' keep us posted how you make out. Java
