Some misc. rattle questions, new '07

Hi, guys, I have an rpm-related buzz coming from somewhere in front of me - in the dash or just in front of the firewall. Might even be the cat. converter shield? It sounds like a small piece of sheet metal. I tried running it up at idle, but can't hear it. Maybe it needs tension on the engine mounts or something. Anyone experienced this one?

Also, the top hinges next to my head make a ticking/creaking noise over road bumps. Should I get out the silicone spray?

And what are the two hooks behind the driver's seat for? And the manual says there's a "storage compartment" behind the passenger seat, but I don't think so ...

Love this car! Like getting a Ferrari at a 90% discount.

Hi Steve,

I have the same type of 'rpm related ' noise. It is only whilst decelerating at around 3000-5000 rpm.
I have spoken to the local Honda dealer and after a test drive (listen) their workshop foreman believes it is a stone or two trapped inside (rattling) in the exhaust heat shield.
They are going to pull the heat shield apart on thursday to check???
I'll keep you posted.

It could be the dreaded 'clutch buzz', but I think Honda solved that a few years ago. You might have something between the cat and the heat shield, but that wouldn't be infront of you, the cat is below the passanger seat. You can get under there and look yourself. Is it still a stock exhaust?

I haven't had this problem, but it wouldn;t hurt to put some lubricant on there.
