High Mileage S2000s
I've been wanting an s2000 for years and I'm finally in a position to buy one, albeit used. I'm thinking of a 02-03 with under 30k miles. My only concern is engine longevity. I plan to leave the car entirely stock for as long as I own it and drive it more or less conservatively. What I'm wondering is, for those of you who have lots of miles on your stock s2000, like 50, 60, 70, even 100k; how does the car hold up? I've been riding a 600 sportbike for my primary transportation all through highschool, college, and law shool, and I've raced motocross, and yet I still have a hard time believing that the high revivng high compression 2.0 in the Honda could have the same kick at 90k as it had at 10k. Sure maybe not 100% of the kick but maybe 90% or more. My yamaha bike is just as scarry fast and fun as ever after all these years and I'm sure the s2000 would be the same but I'd like to hear it from someone who has actually put that many miles on their s2000. So basically what I'm asking is will the car be as fun and reliable at 100k as it was at 20k? If the performance and reliability drop off quickly at some point over 50k then it wouldn't be a very good investment for me right now. Thanks in advance for any reply.

I haven't had my car but for 5,000 miles (its a used 03) but my car has approx 54,900 miles on it and to me it seems peppy as a new one was back in 2003. It's still fun. Now as far as 100k, im not sure

high mileage
I just hit 100k this weekend in my 02'. It feels just as strong but i keep up with my maintenance. I changed the spark plugs @ 80k (iridium). I will check the electrodes on the plugs, resistance on the coils and engine compression next week. I also have to see what service needs to be performed @ 100k. I'm thinking the coils need to be replaced and maybe the timing belt, transfer case, diff fluids.
