how to do the audios?

huy guys i think our car's audio system it's really really suck..
so had bought all the stuff's allready .
Head Unit:alpine 9885 with custom modifry dash control.
door speakers:infiniti kappa perfect 6.1 size 6.5 component set.
rear speakers:custom S-pods with infinit kappa perfect 5.1 size 5.1/4 component set..
Amp: alpine pdx.100 4 channel 100/4 ..

i went to some audio shops for the installing fee ,and they ask way too much.. like $300 + more and more..
so i was wondering if any body have intalled those things by themself
or any website i can go and find some pictures of the installing of Amp and Headunit...
speakers are ez..

THANKS.

Hooking everything up to work isn't too difficult but, the degree of difficulty starts to come in depending on how good you want everything to look when you're done. If you live near the Seattle area, I'll gladly help you with hooking everything up to work. Taking panels apart and hiding all the wires I can't promise because I haven't been taking interiors apart for over ten years and cars have gotten more complicated because of their newer designs. Either way, good luck.

I'm not 100% sure the front speakers you bought will fit. I know on AP1 models, you need to use what they call "slim" speakers. I found this out by picking up a set of very nice CDT Audio components, only to realize they were far too tall to ever fit in the doors.

It worked out for me though, as they had just enough clearance to be installed behind the seats. So, I went out and bought some Infinity Reference 6012ci slim speakers for the doors, and the fit and sound fantastic.

As for install, it really is quite easy as long as you can do very basic wiring. You can probably get away without even soldering anything, although neglecting to do so may lead to a little extra alternator whine. Just make sure you hook up a fuse to your power, find a proper ground, and mount everything securely.

Scott,
Are those Infinity speakers enough for good sound on their own? I have an '01 S2k and my speakers are blown to hell. Looking for a good replacement without having to install an amp or speakers behind the seat.
