question regarding the s2000 motor (f20/f22)
first off i dont even have an s2000...ive driven them plenty of times and crashed 4 of them while working for honda.
anyways...i have a 2002 accord coupe with the 4 cylinder engine. engine code is F23. the s2000 motor is the f20/f22. are they the same family of engines? the f-series? is it possible to bolt a f20/f22 head to a f23 block? that would make an awesome motor. you would have the low end torque of the accord and the high end hp of the s2000. any clarification of the motors would be appreciated! thanks! |

I doubt that simply botling the head of the s2000 onto an accord motor will get those results. The top end HP of the s2000 is all between 6000 and 9000 rpm. I doubt the design of the accord bottom end would allow you to rev the motor to this degree.

I don't kow if they it would work, if it would you are correct it would give you great torque on bottom with strong top end hp. Due to the vtec head. I have been reading about civic guys doing this with B series engines. ex. B20 block with a B16 vtec head. this could be interesting if the head will bolt up the that block.

Different pistons, sleeves, connecting rods... long list. The very nature of the F20c is designed to have a flat (albeit fairly low) torque curve but extending over a very long rpm range (very motorcycle like). In order for the 'bottom end' to achieve the piston speeds needed to hit 8900rpm, it needs to have the composite reinforcement of the F20c.
