Alarm System for S2000
|
I am purchasing a 2002 S2000. I'm pretty sure it does not have an alarm system. It does have remote entry and power doors. Can you give me some guidance on good systems (or bad systems)?

Viper has a fairly new system w/remote start and pager function which you may want to look into, it might be a little heavy on the wallet.

Remote start not offered for manuals!
Too bad. It would be nice but on the other hand wouldn't want to see my car go down the street ghost piloted.

Pure stock S2000 only comes with a immobilizer system. The key has a chip in it that the car's computer can recognize. Therefore, you can't just duplicate the key anywhere. Thief can still use a flat bed to tow the car away.
OEM alarm is an optional item, and it's identical or similar to systems for other Honda's. I have aftermarket alarm; it's a Viper with proximity sensor. I also have Lo-Jack.

I have had a Clifford G5 which was very good, a Viper which was unreliable and now I have a CompuStar which is the best of all. You can choose the features you want with it. And the installer integrated my DE microwave motion detector to it. Which was the only good part of the Viper that was working.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.
