Question Exhaust

Hi, Im a new member who has just purchased a 05 model, all stock. The sound out of the exhaust is a bit wimpy. Can anyone suggest a muffler or exhaust that would be a little more throaty but without being too loud? the Mrs. would not like it too loud! Thanks!

Mugen has the sound you are looking for plus a little more torque and Hp.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Where to buy?

Thanks for the responses so far gentlemen. Next question is, where is the best place to buy either Comptech or Mugen products. Matter of fact, where is the best place for other S2K "enhancements or does it vary depending on what item one is looking for.

Muchas gracias

Pablo

You can buy Mugen from King Motorsports and Comptech from Comptech...it's hard to go wrong with Mugen anything (this from someone who has Comptech CAI and Catback).

A more cost effective alternative?

Ok, I've read the posts and appreciate all the input. I checked out the Mugen and it's about $1700. I can't check Comptech because their site is under construction, but I assume it's pretty pricey too.

I was wondering if there is a more cost effective way of getting just a bit more of a "throaty growl" from the little beast. I'm not looking for a performance upgrade here, just a wee bit more sound.

Does anyone one have knowledge of the system I found on eBay

In short they are going to have greater sound then the stock system.. It is how much you are willing to spend.. HKS high power is in the middle, and quite during cruising..

I would sell you my RM Racing exhaust cheap if you lived near Boise. I do not want to have to ship it.

Maybe you should just try running a test pipe on your factory exhaust, i havent done it personally but some people i've read really like the sound. Dont get the ebay special test pipe with the baffels get just the strait pipe with o2 bung. I got a really nice used one from someone on here for $55 bucks made by Invidia. it matches my Invidia Exhaust.

Pablo --

Some folks have removed their resonator from their factory exhaustand are pleased with the minor increase in exhaust tone...

I run an Invidia that I modded with the factory resonator in place of the Invidia resonator.. It quiets it down a bit and it sounds nice to me.. particularly with the roof down.

If you can pick up an Invidia used/cheap.. you may want to consider this option.
