2000 S2K Starting Issues

I bought my '00 S2K last April and now when I let it sit overnight, then try to start it in the morning, it just turns over and chugs for a bit and then will finally catch and start. I tried holding down the start button a few extra seconds that doesn't seem to do anything. Once it's started you can turn it off and on with no problem... and later in the day when I start it after work there is also no problem.

The problem started approx. two weeks ago when the evening temperature started to drop to around freezing and I'm not sure if that has something to do with it or if it's just a coincidence. Does anyone know what the problem is? I was thinking mass airflow sensor at first but the car idles well and runs fine once its started. Now I'm leaning towards maybe the fuel injectors? Could it possibly be the fuel pump?

Battery.

I am guessing that you will need a new battery soon especially since it is getting colder now. If (when) you go looking for a new battery, cold cranking amps may be an area you look into in regards to the battery's abilities since it gets so cold it gets where you live.

I agree, have the battery checked and if it's below par get a new one.

lol, funny.... my other half is in the Navy (Canadian), and we both dragon boat with the Navy Dragon Anchors team... Battery check on schedule for tomorrow, hope that's all it is!

Agree, she describes what mine was doin' a few weeks ago and it was my battery. Except i let it go until it went dead and i was stuck at a gas station.

Ugh, so don't want to get stranded - at least you were at a gas station! It must be the battery because this morning it was +4/5 degrees and it started "almost" like normal... should hopefully be all fixed after work!!
