Hardtop available?

Hi you Honda S2000 folks!

I've been looking at a silver hardtop S2000 that has started to park on a corner I drive by when I leave my house, and I think it looks really nice.

I don't know what year it is, but I don't think it's current because the driver's area is set so far back compared to what I see at the Honda website for the curent S2000. Which is too bad, I like the look of this older model much better, with a long, low hood, a lot of visibilty from the driver's area and a stubby rear end. I take one look at it and a wonder how many fishtail wags I could do coming out of a corner (an old VW game in the snow!). it looks "British" to me, which in sports cars I think is a good thing! (So's Italian.)

And I have this thing (hate?) about convertibles, espcially the plastic windows, so this hardtop appealed to me very much.

So, are hardops avialble for current S2000's? All I see in advertising are convertibles. I imagine it is a detachable hardtop? And is my perception correct that the newer S2000 have a different body design than I describe this silver one having? Do you like the older style better or not?

Lots of questions, I know. Thanks for listening!

The 2004 S2000 still have the same basic structure of the previous years. Exteriors changes are mainly cosmetics only. In fact, some people have put '04 lights and bumpers to previous models. I think the hood, fenders, doors, and trunk remain the same. They change the interior some.

Since S2000 is only available as convertable, the hardtops are optional. All S2000 since 2002 have glass rear window.

Reconstructing from the decription he's giving, I bet the guy has a Mugen HT and some body kit. Those can make the car seem longer in the nose.
