Lightbulb Will there ever be an S2000 type R?

S2000 has nearly reached its 10th anniversary....and we all know that they only came up with the CR and Type S(JDM), but still both are not Type R...and according to an interview with one of the designer of CR, the CR is only at the middle of Type S and Type R...The things that I like about the CR is that it recieved wider rear tires and Potenza RE070 at all corners, and the suspension settings. The aero design is ok to me, but the most part that I hate on it is its "weight savings", 90 pounds?....I dont think that it is something...coz 90 lbs less will only make the s2000 light like its '99-2002 AP1 models. I really want Honda to came up with a Type R...I mean with the CR's tires (make the front tires also wider like 225 or 235), and suspension....a REAL weight savings making the S2000 at about 2600 lbs....and finally, a Type R engine treatment(especially...still... the torque)....

Man, really hope that Honda would come up with a Type R...

Jus' gut feelin' DM, but I jus' don't see it happenin'.
I agree about the 90 lbs. weight loss not bein' much (Hell they took off almost'z much from the '80s to '90s crotch-rockets), but if Ma Honda'z pocket-protector/slide rule fellas did it right the first time aroun' . . . n' we all pretty much agree that they did, well then . . there really wouldn't be that much room for improvement (Weight-loss-wize) short'a jackin' up the radiator cap n' drivin' a new car underneath.
N'z for the CR AP3 . . . . that eyesore'z downright insultin'.
Be well.

I doubt that it will happen. I read somewhere (maybe here?) that Honda has said they've done all they can do with the current motor.

I'm sure they could come up with something, like adding a blower, that would spice things up a little, but you've got to remember that they build cars to go the distance. They wouldn't jeopardize the reliability.

It's pretty amazing that the current engine does what it does and is virtually trouble free for a loooooong time.

No, Honda will not. If they do, I doubt it will come here.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I am just messin around. Seriously though I am for a s2000 with a little more grunt some boost would be awesome I dont really see honda doing to much more to it na wise. I just dont see why would you wanna call it type r. Type r is what all the ricers in my area talk about yo yo yo im gonna put this type r motor in my civic and smoke you. Oh well I kinda liked the fact that the s2000 was kinda seperated from the rest of the hondas.
