2004 Reliability

I just purchased a stock 2004 with 19,000 miles on it. I'm wondering how the reliability on this car is - since the dealer wants to know if I'm interested in the extended warrenty. I do plan on modding it eventually, which apparantly does not void the warrenty at all.

Any help would be appreciated, as I'm not too familiar with these cars (but picked one up since it was such a good deal).

Thanks,
scott

Reliability for any Honda is excellent and with only only 19,000 miles on it, yours will be around a long time.

Some mods do void the warranty. If you make suspension changes, for example, your suspension will no longer be covered. Same with most components, engine, transmission, exhaust etc. If you're not sure about the warranty on a specific component, your dealer service dept. can tell you.

The only problem you may want to look out for is 2nd gear. Mine kept popping out of 2nd gear. There is a TSB on this problem so I took it to the dealer and they replaced the 2nd gear and synchro under this bulletin. Because yours has 19k on it, if it was going to happen it probably already would have. Other than that, no other problems what so ever.

Welcome aboard Scotty.
I personally know of two Stewies, one an AP1 n' the other, an '04 AP2 that have been abused since their owners bought 'em. Totally impressive machinery that jus' keeps doon whut it is whut it's 'post'a be doon.
Mr. Scott: (Sorry Scotty, no pun intended . . but I'd imagine that you're probably use'ta this) enable the personal opinion ray.
As far'z this Ford man's concerned, you couldn't'a bought a more reliable n' fun ride.
Oh, n' DJJSR's on the money: some alterations will definitely void your warranties.
Wear it in good health.
