Should I buy new or used?

Ok, I have had a civic for 5 years, and am ready to have a real sports car. I love the s2000 and the yellow paint on them is just awesome. I'm thinking about getting one soon...BUT, I absolutely love the Veilside body kit. So I plan on putting that on right away. I may also do wheels right away too.

Question is, should I buy new at 32K, or get a 2001 or so for around 25K and used that extra 7K to do the body kit? I thinki I can sell my civic for around 5 or 6, and I can put that money down, plus another 4,000 for about 10,000 total down on the car. But I really want the body kit and wheels soon. Basically I always thought s2000's were sweet, but when I saw this pic I just couldn't believe how good it looked.

Please give any advice you can. I really appreciate it, as this will be a major purchase. For some background I am 23 and single and still at home, and make over 50 a year. So do you think this would be a wise purchase? Think its ok to go ahead with the kit asap? THANKS!

Buy a new one!

I'd for a new one. I was looking at used one and ended up buying a new one because all the nickel and dime maintenence (tires, pads, top...) and the fact that I didn't maintain it, and no glass rear window.... to save 5K didn't make sense. Especially if you want to change stuff on it. The S2000 is a car you can keep for some time. It's no Civic... 10 years from now the S2000 will still be a car that people recognize as a classic sports car and something with intrinsic value.

The way these cars hold their value, go for a new for sure... Don't be pound foolish because you want your car to 2 Fast...

I disagree, I just bought a 2001 for about half of what it origionally sold for ! If you have money squirting out your butt, buy new. If your like the rest of us, keep looking.

I think you should buy a new one. s2k's engine is the best two liter engine for three years now. And you don't want to buy used s2k because you don't now how the old owner have driven it.

and I agree to mosesbotbol s2k is a car that never gets old.

If possible I'd get the new one, if for no other reason than peace of mind as to the car's previous driving/service. Newer 02 and up will get you the glass rear window, better speakers etc. Also buying new you get to choose the color you want and get full warrenty.
