Oil Plug - GONE

Imagine this. had the oil changed at local Honda store on my 01 with 8k miles. thirty-seven miles later the engine sounded like a thrashing machine. I was close to home and more or less coasted in.

dealer sent wrecker. Wrecker hoisted my car and lo and behold the oil plug was out. dealer put oil in drained through filter - no metal. drained oil filter no metal. Did it again listened with a stethascope no noise. Took test drive seemed okay.

they said what can we do i said give me a 7 yr 100k warranty. they said okay.

after the weekend there was a rumble at low rpm and engine began to stall.

Took it in they pulled the pan and found small amount of metal (bearings - non magnetic). it's now in pieces at dealer.

whay should I do? make them give me a great trade? take extendec warranty. Any advice out there?

I had something similar happen to me! They didn't fill the oil to the appropriate level. I ended up getting a new block, but no new head, under warrenty.

I was without a car for about 2 months. I was visiting family in Arkansas when it happend, ended up flying back home to Florida. Thank god I have another vehicle!!

Please give us the name of the dealer that did this. Just like we should share info about good deals and good service, mistakes like this (gross negligence) should be publicized among S2K owners.

Holy crap! That sucks. I'd make them trade if at all possible.
