Hi, read the fine print very carefully. for example, electronics, emision controls etc are not usually covered. When you get into it, you may find that very little is really included.

My experience is that the insurance company will find a way out of just about any claim.

good luck

I agree w/ steve, they must likely only cover the things that are really not going to break.

Manufacturer's extended warranty is the only way to go in my opinion. I got a new engine after oil starvation for a total of $380.

Emision controls are covered by HOnda for 150,000 miles without a warranty. I got a new cat put on my old prelude i had before. It had 145,000 miles on the clock. Just some useless info for yall. Well useless until your cat. goes bad.

Happy Holidays Bobby, and you make a valid point.

The stock exhaust system on the s2k is a beautiful piece of work, and built to last.....no real reason to monkey with it. Anybody got one that actually rotted off? Doubtful at best. Honda isn't buried in warranty claims for emissions failures, even with this better than average warranty.

From my experience, most catalytic converter failures are caused by engine performance issues. Drive around with a dead miss for enough time, and the cat suffers. If you get enough raw fuel collected in the catalyst, it'll melt it's innards when the gas lights up, restricting exhaust output.....an' it don't run no good no more!

Sorry everybody......just an expansion of the useless information posted above.

Slvrs.........read the fine print......... and, some warranty is better than none, as long as the price is right.

regards,
jagg
