Question How Much Did You Guys Pay For Your New 2007/2008 S2K?

Just curious in what a good price should be, the town I live in is small and the local dealer is asking $38,980 (they are nuts). I'm trying to buy one out of Miami as that are much cheaper down there, the lowest I've found is $29,500. Thanks again guys for all your help!

This is a good time of year to bargain. The dealers would rather have the money in the bank than sitting on inventory.

Slow time for convertibles.

Carguyrob--did you buy that Black '06 in Libertyville? I just missed a Black '06 by a couple days that was advertised on Autotrader.com

Dave...well, were you the "guy out-of-state" that was negotiating the price on my '06 S2000 around 11/15/07? (...had your brother test drive the car the day before??) If so, I owe you a THANK YOU as you beat them up enough on price that I was able to buy it for $2K off their asking price without much hassle.

BTW...congrats on your '07...it looks familiar.

I did not have anyone test drive it...but they did know that I was out of state. By the time I got serious they had sold it (to you) at a great price.

Everything worked out well for both of us! Congrats to you also.

How is Honda's financing? I have okay credit (about a 680 beacon) and will have about $8000-$10000 of positive equity to put down on the car, I'm just curious about interest rates and such, and how picky they are thanks again guys for all the good info!

Honda offered me 6.35% for 60 months. I did better at my local Credit Union so I didn't go any farther with it though.

Your best bet is to have your financing lined up before you bargain. Let the dealer know you might be financing through him and you might get a better deal. They make money selling the paper. Then go with the best deal.

I have 07 White S2K with black & white interior, $28K sounds like a deal. There aren't many 07's left, if you found what you are looking for buy it and start REVing.
GOOD LUCK !!

To go along with what Philiam wrote....Dealerships, especially in the new car market make a very large portion of their total gross or profit on a deal through the finance office. Your best bet is to realize that with a 680 beacon and that much equity, you shouldn't have many issues finding financing. Shop around and find a low rate, go into the dealership, lower that said interest rate by a half percent, and see if the dealership can match or beat it. They are in the business of negotiating, there is no reason when buying a car you shouldn't be either.

2008 CR with stereo and a/c bought in late December 2007. Made an offer over the net cause I didn't want to haggle.

MSRP was just under $38,000. Paid $36,000 and got financing through Honda for 3.9% on the balance after my down payment.

Another thing. Don't go for the special glaze, upholstery protectant, or windshield etching. They make a big profit on those. If they push Lojack, take time to think about it and get some other prices if you want it. Another scam is extended warranty. Huuuuge profit. When I bought a motor home I got a $2500 7 year policy for $800. A $100 over the dealer cost. And besides, It's a Honda!

Too soon old and too late smart!

Paid 29k for my '04 after the dealer installed the Comptech CAI, Catback and 4.77 rear. Since then it's had a few more minor mods...
