how much did you pay? 04 s2000

hi,
I am new to this board and I am considering purchasing a new 2004 s2000.

how much room is there to negotiate with this car?

Has anyone had experience getting a good deal and how did you negotiate?

Anyone recently buy a 2004? how much did you pay?

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I bought my 04 for $30,490. The dealer had a yellow and silver and was able to choose either for that price in Western NC. I had purchased two Accords the previous month.

They better not be selling as fast as the 350Z. The S2000 has always been a limited production roadster. Approximately 5000 cars/year come to the US since 2000. It shares no major components with other Honda platforms. The Z is a mass produced GT car that shares components with a whole bunch of other Nissan products. You go to a dealer and they might have 1-2 S2000s but how many Z's do you see on a Nissan lot? 10?

new '05

I bought a new '05 in mid November. The dealer had 4 S's on the lot (one 2004, three '05s). It was a cold, rainy day with no one in the dealership. I negotiated $31,800 for the stock S plus the Honda car cover. I think it was a good price, but by no means do I think that I stole the thing from them. I think it was a good price and obtained with very little BS (I knew going in that the sales person I was working with was off the next day and leaving around 5PM, so I showed up around 3:30PM and left in the car around 5:15). I think I could have done better on the '04, but it was red, and I did not want a red car (although, I must say the red on the S2000 is striking). The car I bought was a fresh '05 right off the transport. At least in the mid-west, I think you can do better in the cold weather months than waiting until Spring/Summer when I've heard of folks having to be on waiting lists and paying MSRP.
