Should I buy a used 2003 w/7000mi or a new 2004/2005?

I have the opportunity to buy a honda certified used 2003 with 7000 miles, but i have only test driven the 2004 model. I could not tell from posts and web picks much differences for 2004 except for the following:

1. More torque but has a lower redline.
2. Bigger cupholders and brushed metal interior features.
3. Tail lights/headlights slightly different.
4. Front air dam slightly different.
5. Shifting in the 04 model is supposed to be smoother.

My question is for ~$7000.00 are the 04-05s that much better?

Thanks

i have a first year modle s2000 with 12,200 miles on it and i would suggest you go with the 2003. not to offend anyone i would say that the older s2000 is better overall.
P.S. (It's Faster)

You may think the old ones look better, but you cannot say that they are faster. The 2004 model has been proven quicker in every gear. The only thing you loose is high reving. Go with a new one they are faster and their rear ends look better.

2003 vs. 2004

I think I found the best deal. My local dealer had a 2003 that had been on their lot for 11 months. It had 300 miles on it from test drives. I got the full Honda warranty as a new car and paid $27,200.00 for the car. The extra money can buy a bunch of mods. Remember they both produce 240 HP. The torque is different and where the engine makes the HP is different. The cool thing to remember is the 2000 to 2003 is only a 2.0 liter. That is 120 HP per liter making it the most powerful piston driven factory engine ever produced. The new 2004 makes only 109 HP per liter. Just a thought. It sure is fun shifting at 9,000 RPM. You make your decision on looks and what you want to do with the car. An extra $7,000 in the pocket is probably the nicest thing.

Definately get the 03 and save some money. I'm only 18 years old but I know what I'm talking about. Its not worth $7000 for a little more torque. I just bought a red 00 s2k a couple months ago and I'm in love with it, the only problem is where i just moved from recently (hickville, PA) foreign cars especially rice burners were not exactly accepted by anyone, especially police so whenever i was in my old car (01 prelude) cruising around cops were alway on me pulling me over for bull reasons. But now I have this great car, I moved to FL and I can't drive it because I am lacking a drivers liscense.

Anyone know of anywhere I can race autocross down here and don't need a liscense to do it???
