Have you ever...

...left the top down to come back outside and find that it is raining?

No I haven't done this but I was just wondering how the seats would hold up if this ever happened?

Also I noticed a neat little storage area behind the seats with the top up (the area the top folds down into). Have any of you used this area to put stuff when the top was up? I guess it would be ok as long as you didn't forget and try to put the top down with something back there.

Last weekend, the skies finally parted. Nice tufty clouds interdispered with blue sky. Ahhh, the rain is finally gone. It's a top down day. Ran errands all day, feelin' pretty cool being the only one top down. Head into Trader Joe's for about 15 minutes, come out and it is downpouring. I didn't feel so cool anymore. People were probably walking past my S thinking "What an idiot! Who in their right mind would leave the top down when it's raining." I'm glad I keep a rag under the seat to wipe the dust off the dash. My interior was wet but not soaked to the bone. Dried of the leather. No bad smells eminating so I guess nothing's rotting. I went from "cool" to "tool" in 15 minutes. Next time there is any question of precipitation - top up.

Java,
My screen name came from the combination of me being into mountain bikes for the past 12 years plus the fact that I used to have a Suzuki SV 650. I sold the SV a couple of years ago but I just kept using the name. I currently have a GSXR 750 and a BMW R1100S, the GSXR is for sale since I got the S2k and I haven't been riding it much anyhow. It made a good bargaining chip for the wife.
