Which is faster?
AP1 or AP2. Has the change in softening the suspension settings slowed the AP2 or what? Any facts to back up your claims!

Take the time to look around at the current and past threads n' posts, n' you even have the option to go to "search" and pinpoint what it is that you wanna find out. The info's in there, many times over. Be well, Java

The simple, but very noticable difference between a driver n' someone who jus' owns a car.

Sorry for annoying all you long timers. Just to clear something up. Over here in the land that never stops raining (Ireland) the AP1 and AP2 both have the 2.0 liter engine. I forgot that the US and Japan both had changed to the 2.2 liter. Europe still has the 2.0 liter.
The question I was asking was about the difference, if any between the 2 versions with the same engine. Again sorry for buggin' y'all!! John |

The tweaks are minor. From what I've read the suspension changes try to address the tendency for sudden oversteer at the edges of handling. There is also the addition of a clutch delay valve to sacrifice clutch life for the rest of the drive train components. To me, the changes are subjective, and the only real answer to your question is to get some seat time with either.

John, curiosity: have you made use'a that ever-present wet-weather to learn slidin' a car?
I don't get the impression that folks with alodda rain durin' the year only go out when it's dry, so I'm guessin' you've a healthy ability with runnin' a little "loose". Java

You're right Java. I use the S all the time, in all weather. As I've only bought the car a few months ago and it means almost as much to me as my 'family jewels' I try to take it easy in the corners in wet weather.
I had an Integra Type R DC5 (I really loved fighting the torque steer in the corners) before this and as I've heard so many horror stories of guys loosing the back end of a rwd car after changing from fwd I'm trying to be good. I'll have to watch Gan San in the prototype on the ring again for lessons. |

Your in an exclusive club over there John, being that only two new units were sold in Ireland in 2007 |

You're right Neil. The S2000 is a very rare car here. Brand new it costs around 62,000 euro. (about $90000 US) As a result anyone buying a car of that value always goes for the better brand name (badge snobbery), i.e. BMW, Porsche etc.
Another problem for the S now here is there has been a change in the vehicle taxation system. Car tax here will be based on car CO2 emissions from July 2008 and the S falls into the highest category ($2934 road tax per annum) and a vehicle registration tax on this car when bought new goes up from 30% to 36% thus making it more expensive to buy (making the car new cost over $94000). I'd put money on it that there'll be no new S2000's sold in Ireland in 2008 or ever again. I guess it's RIP for the S in Ireland. |
