Having the maintenance reminder it should say A or B service when you have reached the required milage. If it does'nt the garage tecks will know.

What year AP2 again?

If you have the maintenance minder (06+) then the tranny fluid isn't due until it shows "3" on the display. Otherwise it depends on whether you are in an area that is normal or severe conditions. I would recommend every 2yrs/30,000 miles on trans fluid. Otherwise to answer your original question:

Oh, and if it's an 06 then you have the Maintenance Minder, so just drive it to 15% oil life and see what codes come up, service is due at 5% oil life. Don't get a dealership try to sell you more than you need. Honda designed the system to work with the vehicle, trust it.

why would you replace the oil only?

and don't ever rotate the tires on a Honda S2000. if you do, bad things will happen. guaranteed.

spark plugs are a 100,000 mile item. so is coolant. my opine is that they need to be changed before that mileage, but that is what honda says. maintenance minder is a great thing---but use your common sense as well.

On replacing the oil only, it what Ma Honda says, and since we all definitly like what she decided to do when she made our car I think we should trust'er

Of course we all know not to rotate the STOCK tires. But the wheels I just ordered are same width all around, (I wanted staggered, but owell), so IF THEY CAN BE ROTATED, do it. Obviously, we all know if they can't...

obviously the maintenance minder info presented here is not s2000 specific.

changing oil without a filter change--waste of time, money and oil. sorry ma. better than nothing though.

most of the tires you are going to put on an s2000 are one direction only. that means back to front / front to back rotation only--and then on non-staggered, non-stock tires. and non-staggered wheels on an s2000 seriously affect handling--you are not trusting ma on this one. and i suggest that you do rotate them. and watch your ass. because it is going to be breaking loose...oh, well.

don't know if we all know about tire rotation. a lot of the questions from these inquiring minds gives rise to the fact that a lot of these folks don't know a lot about maintaining a car. and there is a lot that is specific to the s2000 that does not apply to other vehicles. you know not to use your factory equipped spare on the rear, don't you? i'll bet a lot of folks out there don't know that one.

of course, this is just my opinion.

You're right, the tire rotation is simply part of the maintenance minder system and is not to be done on the S2K. You CAN perform the "A" service and be just fine, but I know 95% of dealerships here in Phoenix add changing the filter to the "A" service (our dealership) included.
