what is the best kind of oil to use in my 2000 s2000?

You have to consider some things when choosing the oil you want to run. Remember, you are going to just drain the stuff out in 3000 miles anyway, so it's best to pick something that will provide the protection you need for that 3000 miles, but not break the bank.

For my 2001, I use Mobil 1 Synthetic 10W-30. IMO, this oil is a good balance between cost and performance. It does well with my drain interval (3000 miles) and I'm not throwing money away with this oil. Please know that I don't track my car however, so that is also another thing to consider.

I use Mobil 1 full synthetic too. Theoretically, the break-in period should be done with a conventional (non-synthetic) oil however.
