The best one is the one you get to drive.

AP1 all the way! there is a lack of low end torque. i suggest you go drive both of them. youll prolly find ap1 for cheaper though. AND if you go with ap1 get an 02 or 03, the 00-01s have crappy plactic back window. that will eventualy turn green and look horrible. Good Luck!

I think it all depends on what you have and/or what you can afford... those with the money probably goes for the AP2, while people like me only have enough to grab an AP1. Personally, I would think neither the 700 RPM difference in redline nor the difference in torque would be very noticeable. I do like the styling of the AP2 (mainly the different front bumper) more, though.

No clear. I appreciate people that like to build drive and work on performance cars. Why you would want to "flick" them off and try to show off your conv top after you lost the race is way over my head? One would assume someone that can afford a sti could afford a s2000 but they prolly chose the sti for other reasons. All im saying is you lost if that upsets you than its time to slap some performance on your car.

lol, lets put a turbo in the s2000 just like its put in the sti, and lets see who wins.

people forgetting that the s2000 is all engine. put a turbo with the right settings, and a STI will be licking your nuts.

Had an AP1 for three years and now into my first year on an AP2, I can say that I love them both. I switched because the latter has a smoother ride, and I'm old enough and commute enough to appreciate it - and my wife does as well when she's copilot. The first one had a better "throw you back in the seat" vtec jump, that's all that I miss, but I can still jam the same way and suddenly end up at 80 in a ridiculously low gear with my new baby.

Drive both of them and then decide. I personally would never trade my AP1 for an AP2. I hate the gearing in the AP2's.
