interested in 2002 have question

I am looking at a 2002 w/ a little over 40,000 miles on it. The dealership is a wholesale dealership and says that there is not a remaining warranty on it and is sold as is. I am new w/ the s2000 but I thought they had at least a 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. They are asking around 20,000 and I checked carfax and nothing bad shows up.

My 2003 came with a 3 year/36,000 mile bumper to bumber warranty. Any extra warranty on the powertrain is an extra purchase. If the original owner bought a Honda extended warranty it might be trasnferrable, but I doubt it. I bought one on a 2000 Accord I bought my wife. When we sold it, Honda pro-rated the warranty and returned some of the money to us. Good luck!

Too many miles IMO. Try to find one that's got at least 1 year left on the factory warranty.
