I took mine to the dealer when I had the oil changed. It is probably the gas cap. My wife had the car and left it off!

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

My light came on for about a week which made it idle very uneven. Then decided to have it looked at and guess what ? It went out on its own accord and hasnt been on since, about 1000mls later.
Still dont know what the problem was.

Fix for check engine light

Hold down the trip button, turn the key on, keep holding the button til the light goes off.

There is a big difference between the CEL (check engine light) and the service engine light.

While the latter can be reset as posted above, it is merely a reminder that the upcoming recommended service interval (7500mi) is soon. The former means that the onboard diagnosics has noted a problem. Just resetting it (by pulling the fuse or d/c the battery) won't make the problem go away.

As an example, if you had single bad injector as described above, you could end up with a single cylinder lean condition that might result in needing a rebuild if that cylinder has detonation.

Yep, as I posted, disconnecting the battery will definitely fix that clogged injector alright... fix it all the way to having to rebuild the engine.

Reading is fundimental.
