Surging while cornering

Hi All

I have just joined this forum and hope to get some help with an issue I am having with my car. I have a 2001 S2000 and live in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Recently the car has started surging while cornering. If I corner at anything more than a relatively high speed the car loses about 50% of power, as soon as the car starts to settle again the power comes back to normal, this loss stays constant while cornering. It does it with a full tank of petrol and on both right and left hand turns. It does it in every gear at any speed.

I would appreciate any thoughts?

i think der is something to do with the differencial, maybe is just another safety thing to prevent the car from accidents. just like traction control or something, because i've experience that in my CLK but i hav't tried with my s2000 yet.

I've noticed something similar when accelerating from a stop immediately into a turn (e.g. from a stop sign or light). My thinking is that it is related to the differential. It feels like the fuel isn't getting to the engine, though.

Found the problem, the bearings were on their way out. While cornering the extra resistance of cornering was putting more stress on the motor. This was causing knock through the dodgy bearings, when the knock is detected the timing gets retarded, causing the loss of power while cornering.

So now my car has a failed motor and is going to take 3-6 weeks to repair at a cost of around $6 015.00. They are installing a new sub-assembly at a Honda dealership.

Thanks for the feedback
