At what kilometers should the oil be changed?

I am wondering when should be the best time to change the engine oil? Although, the service book state that 6000km should be the first time for engine oil change, however isn't the ealrier the better? because many ppl say change engine oil often will make ur car better or the same but for sure not worse, is that true? Also, wut else should be changed such as differential oil, brake, gearbox etc...

Some people still believe in the urban myth that new cars come with some sort of magic 'break in oil' from the factory that shouldn't be changed for _____ (fill in the blank, but 5,000 miles seems to be the most common).

Anyway, you can do your first oil change at 3,000 miles and every 3,000 miles thereafter.

Many people change their tranny fluid and diff fluid after about 15,000 miles. Like you said, can't hurt. I had a nice layer of shavings on the magnetic drain plug of my diff at 15,000 miles.

Sorry about the US measurements, too lazy to convert them
