2005 S2000

I just noticed the 2005 S2000 on the Honda website. Go to www.hondacars.com. The changes only appear to be cosmetic over the 2004 version.

Is it the engine?

Well, did you look at the engine demographics? I haven't myself been to the site, but it might possibly be the engine, because I know that the 03 changed from a 2.0 liter ingine to a 2.2 liter engine in the 04 version, same horsepower, but more tork (spelling?)!!! I'll check out the site now...

Hot Love.....

what are engine 'demographics'???

The '04 and '05 are exactly the same car, to the best of my knowledge.

Demographics are the characteristics of a human population or a part of it. You are referring to the engine specifications. Also, the correct spelling is torque. I believe it is the exact same vehicle as 2004.

I got a 2005 S2000

the changes are mainly cosmatic as you said
however

there is also some changes with the gear ratios and differantial (housing and the other 2 parts of the differantial sorry I don't know what ytou call them in English

suspension is different

bumpers tail lights, head lights, the rear window of the soft top, some other inetrior parts are different
thats all
I have heard that there is a problem with the differantial of the S2000 until 2003 and honda sovled this problem in 2004

Do you know what the problem was with the differential? That may have been a factor in my clutch being smoked after 7500 miles. In fact, I have heard of a lot of people smoking their clutches early on.

ive had a drivetrain problem but i dont think its the differential i think its in the tranny i have an 00 and when i shift at redline 9000 into second it doesnt go in but if i do it at 8500 itll shift fine and i tried to shift slower in case somehow i was repeatedly missing 2nd but when i try it slow the rpms go back down to 8500 or lower so it shifts fine but 2nd to 3rd 3rd to 4th and so on itll shift perfect at redline... anyone else have this problem??? or any idea what it could be??

I think I know

it might be synchromesh (I'm not sure if it is English )
you should immediatly talk to your mechanic otherwise in the future it will cost you a new gearbox

my adivce is change your "gear oil"
if you still have problem with shifting to 2nd gear
ask your mechanic to check the 2nd gear synchromesh

about the differential I have asked a friend of mine

he told me that they have problems in the earlier models

The rear assembly has few main components. They are the final drive (ring & pinion gears), differential unit, bearings and bearing caps, housing (front and rear) and output splines

The front case has poor mountings for the bearing caps and they break loose. That causes the pinion gear of the final drive to ride up onto the ring gear and destroy themselves.
