S2K as daily driver?

Hi,
I'm new to the S2K crowd and have a few questions
I'm going to be off to college next year and I'm going to be purchasing a new car. Do any of you guys use your S2K as a daily driver? Is it fairly easy to drive around town?

i don't, but after a few lectures its nice not to have to worry about shifting...that gets to be a bother after a while...so i have an auto for my DD. But the s2k gets good gas mileage, so its not a bad idea nowadays...other than that, it just depends...drivin the
s2k is a blast, but sometimes i like to give it a rest...

I use Stewie as a daily driver including Yokohama Ice Guards when the white stuff falls. Driving slow is a practice in leg work because there's never a right gear when you're going slow.

I enjoy it, because when the weather gets nice and the top can go down, or the road opens up and you can wind it out, it's nice to be in the right car for it.

Congratz on your upcomin' college ohoh.
Practice assignment:
1) Using the site's search tool locate some of the many threadz discussin' the topic.
2) Usin' the information found therein. draw a useful conclusion.
3) In 50 wordz'r less report why you chose to get your own Stewie'n, because it's required by many of our esteemed colleagues, post pictures.
Take your time, but have it in by yesterday.

As a footnote to Java's post, he uses his as a DD too. Including an infamous and often photoshopped picture of a snow speckled Silverstone.

I don't know how you feel about cars and driving. If your idea of a great drive is nailing a heel-toe downshift from 3rd to 2nd while going around a corner, hearing the engine wind down from 8k, having the back end track around the corner, communicating it's grip through the seat, then pushing the throttle back down and letting the exhaust sing from the pipes, then you can drive this car _every_ day, because every day, you'll be rewarded for it.

Thats how I want to drive but right now I have a Land Cruiser. Not complaining but it's just not sporty enough for me. Floor it and it takes forever to hit 60 and BODY ROLL everywhere.

Anyways the two cars I'm looking at is the VW R32 and a S2K...choices choices

To work 25mi every day (and back), a few more miles usually on weekends just having fun. My wife thought I'd get tired of shifting in traffic, but no worries, and downshifting into vtec when traffic opens up totally makes up for it...

Where do you get to daily drive like this, I want in, because where I live you will heel-toe yourself right around a corner into stopped traffic.

On the topic of stewie as a DD, I actually think you need it in conjecture with another vehicle. While I find the lack of space a bit of an issue others say it doesn't bother them, but most of those others own another vehicle in some form or fashion. In the end I let it slide because in the end all you need is the top down n some back roads, but in my eye's its not a supreme DD, just a supreme car.

Chicago. But I live in the burbs, my one way trip to the city is 28 miles. I drive to work around 5:30 in the morning, so no traffic at all. There are a couple of curves on the way where I get to drive like that, but at the risk of getting a ticket from the CPD (for those from the area, the ramp from I-55 to LSD, and a couple of turns on LSD, and LSD to Columbus).

On the way back, it's usually gridlock, but there are a few places it opens up. The offramp that I take has a couple of sweepers on it.

On your comment about another vehicle, I agree with it. I have a beater SUV that I use on the weekends when I need to haul more than just me and my workout bag. The thing is, when I hear DD, I think about a commuter car to work and back.

Here in TN there are roads like that everywhere. I can go 60-70 straight from school to home, two stop signs though, and thats about a 20 mile drive. These are curvy roads on hills.

Excellent! Great car for those type roads. Just get a beater for when the weather turns bad.

Least you wont get sea sick. R32 would be better cause you could haul stuff. The S lol not a chance.

but mine is a daily driver and if I can still afford it Im keepin her.
