boot snaps stuck
MAN!! My thumbs hurt. I spent at least thrity minutes earlier today trying to unsnap the convertible boot (cover) from the two snaps behind the roll bars. First off I have never used them because I found them to be too difficult to snap on but somhow today I accidentally snapped one in which made it easy to snap the other and now I can't get either one to unsnap so I can remove it and put the top back up (fortunately I have a garage). Is there a trick to unsnapping these?

Little help from mother nature always works...................its probably a good idea when installing or removing the soft top cover to do it in the sun........before installing leave the cover in the sun, it'll get a little more flexible and stretches to make an awkward job easier.

They are sort of spring loaded. It's kind of like working the plunger on a syringe, except you put your thumb off to the side.
If that makes any sense at all.(?) |

They are the same type snaps that are on the elastic straps on the sides. You have to pull the knob to release them.

DJ, Rolso, Neil,
Thanks. I actually had to combine all of your suggestions to get those suckers to come off. At any rate they came off....finally. Thanks again. |
