Hmm, is it worth querying Honda direct? If it says that in the specs then it should be closeish I would have thought.

My S2000 is a 2001 model and I can do over 200 miles without having to fill up, but if I do a lot of driving in the city I go through a hell of a lot more.

I have to say though, I didn't expect fuel economy when I got the car.

wow that sounds like u r car use even more gas than mine, however it is still far from the factory specs:

Fuel economy City (litres/100km)
10.5
Fuel economy Highway (litres/100km)
7.8
Fuel tank capacity
50 litres

I think 400km with a full tank of gas is the best you can get. Anything higher than that is impossible.

Get a Civic that will solve your GAS and MONEY situation.

But for the S2k don't worry about GAS it's not for gas saving money CAR is for Taking turns and going fast at turns and WASTE gas.

The best suggestion is Don't worry about just have fun with your S2k.

Economy Cars

I get about 230 miles per tank, never really bought it because of the mpg rating though. I think honda makes a car that's environment friendly, sort of electrigas or something like that. Good choice ditching the mercedes though, I've owned some foreign cars and don't much enjoy paying for the emblem, especially when it comes to service and repair.

Yeah I'm averaging about 22-23 mpg in my '04 and that's virtually no highway miles. considering i just got out of something averaged 11-12 mpg, I'll take the S2k performance and the 23 mpg and grin all the way to the bank.

Good catch

You are correct, it is foreign, however it doesn't carry the pricetag that most imports do, at least in my book it's a very inexpensive car. Back to my point, again, the service repairs aren't near what other imports are, glad I can clarify my point.

real answer

Ok, I know what you are going through!! I just got mine about half a year ago, and I was so excited I would push the redline at every stoplight!! but that was my problem!! when i got in that car every day to go to school, i would get pumped up and my heart would start racing (common side effect of the s2000!) so i would race every person that dared to go against my fierce monster!! but what i have learned now is that you have to try not to do those things!! When i see a red light ahead, i start to slow down and try not to come to a stop, just by inching forward (very difficult i admit!) and that way i wouldnt have to accelerate from the stop, which takes up alot of gas, so now i have gotten much better mileage!! Hope that's the answer you were looking for!!

Hot love!!
Stephanie
