I'm 25 with a clean record. Mine's $620 every 6-months (~$100/month) for the '04 S and '99 Jeep Cherokee through Geico in Central VA.

i just got quoted from USAA for about 130 a month and i live in frederick, md. i'm 26 and have a clean driving record. progressive was slightly better at like 120 a month. these are both with 1k deductibles. hopefully i can get something better, maybe i should call USAA and see what's goin on.

I am in the market for a ragtop--I have wanted one ever since I got rid of my MGB 25 years ago! I got some insurance quotes today from my insurance agent today, comparing the S2000 to some other cars. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I am a middle-aged guy with a clean record. I compared several used 2006 cars. Here's the rates for 6 month policies:
2006 Camry (don't want one but wanted a baseline): 448 2006 S2000: 764 2006 Mustang V-6: 659 2006 Mustang GT: 699 2006 Miata: 627 2008 Miata Hardtop: 688 So basically, the S2000 would cost me only $50/month more in insurance than a basic Camry. That should keep the wife happy! Insurance is really high in Atlanta where I live. Last edited by amateur; 10-09-2008 at 04:01 PM. |

It pays to shop around. Although Progressive is by far the cheapest on my motorhome, they were high on our 3 cars. I switched from AAA, on the cars, to Mercury and by including home owners, saved over $600.
Several factors are involved, including where you live, driving record, mileage driven, etc.

When I bought the S my insurance (Met Life) increased $500 per 6 months. I immediately shopped around and now I'm paying $69 a month ($828 per year). Full coverage, $100 deduct, $100/$300 limits (Liberty Mutual). They were also able to increase my house insurance limits and decrease the payments.
