Easy enough to check it out as long as they have a clear title. I'd have it inspected though.

Seems like a really good deal if it's legit. But that's the ugliest 'S' I've ever seen. Looks like it was painted with rattle cans.

Wow, that's cheap. I would assume it has something wrong with it, besides the terrible paint job. If I lived close to it, I'd certainly go check it out.

Maybe it's the same paint they use on the stealth fighters! That is one fugly paint job! Also, the seller has 0 feedback. Nice...

Not Buying This Story.

Three strikes.

1. No vehicle history report posted by seller to support sale and "story".
2. No photos of VIN numbers to prove they have not been tampered with.
3. Why the F*** would you paint over the center brake-light and emblems unless you were hastily trying to conceal the cars true color from prying eyes?
(this last one could just be a lack of taste and or masking ability

Their story is that an insurance co claimed the car as a total. Seems pretty easy to verify. But who'd buy a car that a) has been totaled? b) has been painted with a broom?

$12,000 is too low? At that price, I wouldn't touch the car with a 10' pole (or is it poll?). And that's assuming there's no issue with the title.

Just curious, how much would you guys think this car (assuming it's legit) is really worth?

I think you can see the Z in the background of the s2000 pictures. I dont think the guy is that shaddy> He is ovbiously selling you a car that has been wrecked. I anyone buys this is to go back and turn them into a stripped car or if they want to do lots of body work.

They do the same with motorcycles and if you sknow what you are looking at you can get great deals. I would not recomend getting into any of these as a dayly driver cause they do need a lot of work.

When I bought my bike i got it from a company in KY that had hundreds of wrecked bikes from insurance companies at great prices. But they were a legit shop and even their worst bikes were still ridable. I personaly inspected mine for over an hour before buying.

Ya just odd looks like he has them in his yard lol not much of a dealer the cars look more like he was the one that stole them and wrecked then fixed lol but for sure if you could look at it and it was legit it would be worth it just to sell out some of the parts you could get 12000

Probably more than half the ads in the Dallas paper are from dealers like this. I've avoided them just because they usually don't know the history of the car, won't have maintenance records, etc. Nothing shady... they're just folks (usually recent immigrants) trying to earn a buck by going to auctions and picking up cars like this.
Not much different than buying a car for the sole purpose of parting it out...

Boy... I thought I was cynical.

Being cynical in this case may not be a bad idea. The seller of that flat black "S" has ZERO feed back. NONE

And, if you think this is a cynical thread, go read the antenna thread!....LOL

On second thought, don't do that.

To be honest, for 10k you can part it out for way much more money than that. If I had the time and patience to deal with people, I'd do it.
